This past summer I've been working at Ammon Speedi Mart for Uncle Lennis. I've made all my money for school and school clothes. Every thing I need, I buy.

I went to adventure camp up to Palisades Lakes. We had a lot of fun.

At camp I was an adventurer and we had a lot of fun there too.

Mom, Dad, Rhett, Natalie, Justin, Lance and I went to Palisades Lakes on a horse pack trip. It was really really fun. We went to the reunion too.

I've been babysitting and doing a little bit of house cleaning.

Our ward youth went to the Snake River and floated it to the Miskin's cabin up at Island Park, afterward we ate and played games. It was really fun.

I've been going out with Kayle Leortscher this summer. School started Aug. 25. I'm a Junior. I like Kent Abbott, he's really cute. I am going to be in the Miss Bonneville pageant. I just got a beautiful white short chiffon dress with satin ribbon. I'm wearing it for my talent. I am playing "stars and Stripes Forever" on the piano and do a dance. I'm kinda excited.

This school year we are having a lamanite exchange student. Her name is Jennifer Chasing Hawk, she's 9 years old. She's from Cherry Creek South Dakota, that's by Eagle Butte, where one of my best friends Susie Cook lives. She's also a lamanite exchange student. She's really funny.

Today was Saturday and our Homecoming Dance. It has been a real busy week and boy am I glad it's over. Today I took apart the float and the wagon and took everything back. Then I went to help decorate for the Dance. I really had a lot of fun at the dance. I went with Kayle and we doubled with Heroto and Laura Baxter. J.C, and Wendy ate with us, and I really shouldn't say this but J.C. is a fox! The dance was a blast!

June 5, 1984 -

There has been a lot of things happen from the beginning of the school year. After Homecoming week I tried out for Miss Bonneville and didn't win, but felt good about it.
From the beginning of this year it seems everything just started to fall apart until now.
In January of my Junior year I had a super bad strep throat during Christmas vacation and I really never got back on my feet after that.
January 27th was our New Beginnings for Young Women's and before we left I had a terrible feeling come over me. I could not hold my emotions and I would always cry. I thought it was just because I had been so tired lately from always going every night.
Just before we left to New Beginnings I prayed that I would be able to feel better and that I would be able to get rid of this feeling that something terrible was going to happen. I calmed down and in the car I felt like I had to keep moving my arm so it wouldn't go stiff. I told Mom that I was feeling funny and she was really concerned. I stayed home the next day. From then on I missed a lot of school and I was getting really irate. In February Grandpa and Grandma took us to Sweetwater so we could all just get away. February was also sweetheart ball. I had asked David Berry to go with me, but I was so sick I didn't feel like I could go, so I stayed home.
On March 3, I went to Junior Prom with Darin Berrett, I didn't go to school again until April. I really can't remember much during that time, I spent my days sleeping and going to doctors and getting dressed to go to doctors and eating.
There was so many people who called and asked how I was doing. Jeanette and Allison brought me some flowers, a book and a record. Jill Burke brought me a flower and I would get phone calls by the dozens!
During this time I had a 17th birthday party at Grandma's that my friends gave. It was so fun and I will never forget that party because that was the last time I saw Cheryl Norman.
On April 5, Cheryl was in a terrible car accident on the corner of Township and Ammon Lincoln Road. Bethia, Jeanette and I went to the hospital until midnight when we found out Cheryl would not make it. She died April 6th. I was asleep but woke up about the same time she passed away at 2am. I had a really warm feeling. I knew Cheryl was gone. The funeral was beautiful.
After that I went back to school part time. I also went to Commencement Dance with Kent Kinghorn. I went to a pillow movie with Kayle Leortscher. I also attended graduation and then went with Kayle to a party at Kevin Steffler's. It was really fun! But I didn't get home until 3:30a.m.
May 27th was Bruce Empey's farewell. Kayle and I went to that and then went on a bike ride. We also ended up watching "Paul Hogan" with everybody.
June 4 was my first day at work at Beehive bookstore. I love it!
I went to Jeff Irick's funeral today, June 5. It's been a really tragic year so far!

October 27, 1984

Today has been the best day of my life! This morning I woke up and decided not to go to Ricks Day. So Mom said that I should get my color analysis done, so I called this lady that Mrs. Ball gave me her name and number. I went there and got my colors and makeup done. I'm a summer and spring, but more summer.

Well, anyway this ladies name is Mrs. Scarr and her son came home and his name is Eric and he's a doll! He asked me out for Halloween and he's so nice!

October 31, 1984

Halloween! Wednesday October 31, 1984 at 9:11p.m. DaNae Judy was born! 8lbs. 9 ounces. She's just so cute!!

Eric Picked me up at 6:30 and we went to his house and watched some TV and ate and watched "Watcher In the Woods". It was so fun!

November 21, 1984

Tonight was MORP and boy, I sure had a lot of fun! Eric is so cute! He gave me a Care Bear tonight. I couldn't believe it. We went to Micasas to eat and I met his sister, Grandpa and Uncle along with the rest of the clan. They were nice and it was fun.

Tonight was my FIRST kiss. It was alright, I don't know how to kiss!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, Yeah!!

December 25, 1984

Today is Christmas and it was really nice for the money we had. I got slippers a blanket and pillow. Grandma and Grandpa, Tobe, Rhett and I are on our way to Disneyland! We are staying in Winnemucca Nev. in a motel tonight. We stopped at Jackpot and went in Cactus Pete's Casino.

December 26, 1984

We left Winnemucca this morning and headed to Reno. We went to Circus Circus. We also went to Lake Tahoe. We got to SanFrancisco this afternoon and have been playing around. We went to fisherman's wharf and rode the trolleys and crossed the Oakland Bridge etc. It's been real fun!

We are staying the night at Salenas, California. Tomorrow...L.A.

December 27, 1984

We finally got to L.A. We stopped at a dairy farm and talked to a farmer and we got to stop at the beach and played around! It was really fun!

We are staying in Anaheim right by Disneyland. It was really raining today. I hope it stops for tomorrow. I didn't send Eric a postcard yet, but hopefully I can by morning. California is really pretty. It's green!

December 28, 1984

Today we spent at Disneyland all day long. We are going to spend tonight in Oceanside. Today was really quite fun. We got to see a lot of specials for the holidays. I really do want to go home pretty quick though. I think I miss Eric and my family. I got a bunch of stuff at Disney. We didn't even get to see half of that place and we were there for 13 hours. My poor feet!

December 29, 1984

Today we went to San Diego and this morning we went to Tiajuana. I'm not really impressed at all. In fact that place makes me sick. We were going to go to Sea World, but it was late and cost $13 a piece to go, so we decided to go to Las Vegas tonight.

December 30, 1984

Today we have been traveling all day. We went to see Hoover Dam and took a tour through it. We are staying tonight at Salt Lake City with Merrill and Vera Mae. Hopefully we will be getting home early tomorrow afternoon. I guess you could say I'm a little homesick.

Well today has been pretty great! I called today at Yost Office Systems and I got the job! Today was my first day too! I think I am going to like it!

Today has been a gorgeous day! After our blizzard yesterday. I can't believe how the weather is around here. Grandpa and Grandma, Tobe, Natalie and I went for a snowmobile ride. It was really wierd because every one is really snowed in like us!
The next morning we all woke up with the punies except for Dad, me and Lance. Yuck!

Today was my 18th birthday! I am now what is considered an adult! Today has been a really great day! Even at work we had a strawberry pie for my birthday. Kayle came in to get me from work and we went to the D.I. and bought some gorgeous clothes. Then we changed at Bogangles and went and got something to eat at Scotty's. Then we went to the show. We saw Police Academy 2, if was really funny. We went to Kayle's house and then he brought me home.

April 6, 1985

Eric asked me to go to the REO Speedwagon concert on the 20th. I think I am going to ask Mom and Dad if I can go. I hope I can go SO BAD!

Guess what! I can go to the concert. I am SO GLAD! I can't believe that Dad let me.

May 31, 1985

What a day! This morning we had Baccalaureate practice and then Jill and I went to some things and we sold tickets to Lagoon Day and handed out class gowns and got our yearbooks etc.

Today was my last day of work at Yost Office Systems. It was really sad because I really loved that job!

Tonight was our awards banquet, it was really nice. Afterward Jeanette, Allison and I went to the Young Adult dance.

May 20, 1985

I came home today and in my room I couldn't even see it! It was totally T.P ed. and I had to follow this green string until I found a message. It was Fozzy...(Stan Spencer) asking me to commencement. It was a total disaster in here.

June 1, 1985

Tonight was commencement Dance and Stan Spencer and I went together. It was really fun! We doubled with David Iglinski and Laura Mason. After the dance we went to the Westbank and played on the elevators and then went to JB's. It was so much fun!

June 4, 1985

Today was Lagoon Day! And was it fun! I had so much fun! I am so tired I could just about go to sleep right now. I got up this morning at 4:45a.m. and left at 5:15 to pick up Jeanette and Allison! We had so much fun. We rode down on the bus with David and Stan. Jeanette and I ran around with them.

June 5, 1985

Graduation Day!

We had graduation practice that morning and got our pictures taken in a block BHS formation and we got our commencement dance pictures. I was beat so I went to sleep when I got home. Eric and Doyle called to say Congratulations. Grandma Judy came up and gave me a gorgeous afghan that she made. Bethia came over and gave me a present. Everyone is so sweet! At graduation it was neat! Afterwards everyone was hugging everyone. I didn't cry until I saw Jeanette. Then we both started bawling. Eric was there too! He looked real fine. He hit a home run at his ballgame. We all went out to eat and went to the seminary party all night.

June 7, 1985

Today has been a really nice day.  I got up to 90 degrees or more.  Jeanette and I went to town today and had a really fun time.  We are bestest buds.  I bought me some white polka dot pants at Bogangles and we entered the ugly tie contest.  We had a lot of fun today. 

June 20, 1985

 Today was Clint's 4th birthday!  I spent today writing letters to the missionaries.  Natalie and I made Clint's birthday cheesecake and we really had a fun time doing it.  Tonight we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and watched "The unsinkable Molly Brown".  It was so good!

I have to take the boys to band tomorrow, so I better get some sleep so I can get up.

June 21, 1985

Today was the very first day of summer!  Natalie and I cleaned up the house and we layed out.  I am slightly burned.  While we were laying out, Jeanette called and needed me to come and pick her up from work because she locked her keys in the car.  So I did and we did some running around.

We had a Luau at Miskin's tonight for mutual.  It was really fun.  Afterwards we (me, Bethia, Gina, Natalie, Merrilee and Bryce) went cruising!  It was real fun!

At the party Gina called Bill Hardy in Rexburg and we talked to him for 20 minutes.  Bethia is going out with him on Saturday.

Today I went with Mom for the first time on the paper route.  I am also helping Dad at work with the sprinkler business.  It's hard work!
